State Street Bar Under Investigation For Serving Overaged Persons
Madison police conducted an investigation at an unnamed bar late Halloween night, and were shocked upon finding upwards of three overaged individuals who admitted to consuming alcohol with proper identification. The patrons were taken in for questioning, but were ultimately released due to no laws being broken.
Sandra, presumably 21, spoke to our reporter about the event,
“One asked for a taplist.”
Sandra described the individuals as looking unmoisturized and as old as twenty-six, or even older. She was visibly shaken as she gave her account. Though rare, occurrences like these can happen. At this time no official motives have been verified, but theories swirl. It’s possible the accused individuals were looking for a microbrewery and took the wrong street off of the Capitol square. It’s possible, too, that the individuals mistook the establishment for some sort of age-appropriate venue such as a library or a bank or something else that people like that are into.
The campus police chief responded by indicating that it is unclear at this time what could have caused this, and it is unlikely we will ever know. The bar continues to operate, but is under heavy scrutiny from the public and police officials. Bar security has since complied with public demands by adopting a novel approach to security by letting persons enter the building if they share the “vibe” of someone of legal drinking age.
